Ashwin Viswanathan, PhD
Ashwin is a mechanical engineer turned ecologist and an avid birdwatcher. His early research explored plant biology and how fragmentation impacts mechanisms that maintain plant diversity. Over time, he became fascinated with leveraging citizen science to address ecological questions. Ashwin is currently part of the Bird Monitoring team at the Nature Conservation Foundation, where he works with birdwatchers to systematically monitor avifauna, generating valuable knowledge from citizen-generated data.
Join us for a webinar on January 5, 2025 (Sunday), at 7 PM, titled "Functional Traits of Bioindicators in Assessing Microhabitat Diversity and Ecological Resilience”, by Dr. Asghar Nawab and Ashwin Viswanathan, PhD, focusing on Wetland Ecosystems and Avifauna, respectively.
